On 2nd June, 2016, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, the leaders of Petro Vietnam (PVN) awarded Decision No. 975/QD-DKVN dated 22nd May, 2017 appointing Dr. Assoc. Prof. Le Van Sy, the current Director of the Advanced Training Center, to hold the position of Vice Rector of PetroVietnam University (PVU) from 1st June, 2017.
In the ceremony, there were Dr. Nguyen Tien Vinh – Member of the Council Member of (PVN), Dr. Nguyen Quynh Lam - Deputy General Director of PVN, Mr. Trinh Dung - Deputy Head of Human Resources of PVN, Dr. Hoang Hung – the Vice Rector of PVU, leaders of PVU’s departments and centers.
At the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Dung – Deputy Head of HR of PVN announced the decision of the General Director of PVN for the appointment of Vice Rector of PVU.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quynh Lam - Deputy General Director of PVN congratulated Assoc. Prof. Le Van Sy and strongly believe that Assoc. Prof. Le Van Sy is continuing to succeed in the new position. At the same time, leaders of PVN requested the leaders and lecturers of PVU to promote the results achieved; unite overcoming difficulties and challenges; strengthen the training and research, contributing to the development of high quality human resources for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, the new Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Le Van Sy thanked the leaders of PVN and leaders and staff of PVU, has entrusted a great new responsibility and affirmed efforts will be made, with the staffs and lecturers of PVU bring into play the strength of solidarity to train high quality students; different with the other university in oil and gas industry; meet the developed needs of the Group; and It is also effective in combining training with scientific research and practical application of the Group, well accomplishing the strategic objectives of the Petro Vietnam.
